This guide consists of the teaching points and descriptions on how to install a pressure man to man defense. It is an aggressive system based on putting pressure on the offense by denying passes and funneling the ball to the sideline. As with any defense, there are pros and cons to the system.
This system plays well to attack the offense, cause turnovers, and defend the three point line, but has some vulnerabilities, most commonly in allowing dribble penetration and fouling. If taught properly and precisely, the strengths of the defense can be heightened and the weaknesses diminished.
I think this system can be for any team that can teach and execute, not just teams that have superior athleticism. Great athletes certainly help defending the ball in space and rotating quickly, but ultimately the technique and execution is what will make this system successful.
